AMORY -- Watching her brother, John, struggle with Down syndrome taught Patti Parker at an early age about the true challenges of people with special needs.

So when her son, Johnny, was born with cerebral palsy, she knew by example what could be accomplished by people with special needs if they had a loving family and were given the right opportunities.
