TUPELO -- Most of those close to Lindsey Leake know him as the head of a century-old independent building supply retailer, a devoted family man and staunch community supporter.

Many folks don't know about his secret talent. Leake is an amateur blacksmith who studied at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, and serves as Tupelo's resident blacksmith for the Oren Dunn City of Tupelo Museum's Dudie Burger Festival.

"Lindsey illustrates the technique with the forge, billows, anvil, hammer and all," his dad, Robert Leake, pointed out.

The younger Leake also shares his colonial craft during Union County Museum's Pioneer Days and will soon do the same for the Pink...
