Until September 2005, Jarrad Garner had lived a providential and unruffled life. He was a successful partner of a large law firm, devoted husband and dedicated father of two small children, Gabe and Molly.

Not long after Hurricane Katrina struck the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Garner hit an unfortunate bump in the road. Shortly after his wife gave birth to the couple's third child, a son, Lindan, the baby was diagnosed with a serious intestinal condition. Since then, the baby has endured several surgeries and extensive medical attention.
