JACKSON -- When Hope Kennedy-Allen was growing up in a rural Florida town, she watched her mother settle for a life that she did not want, and often thought about what might have been.

"I knew that I didn't want to be 50 and wonder what my life would be like if only ...," admitted Kennedy-Allen.

"Living in a rural town in North Florida came with its own set of challenges," she explained. "If you didn't have the desire to succeed, you most certainly would get stuck there. I had to set a plan for my life. At that point, a career was not front and center. My original desire was to move to a big city."
