ELMIRA - Their list of gripes is shorter than it was in the fall, but members of a fledgling community organization say they have yet to see the degree of change they desire in Fern Ridge schools.

The group, called Our Community United - Fern Ridge, coalesced last fall, citing growing dissatisfaction with a variety of district policies and practices, mostly at Elmira High School and often revolving around athletics. In December, the group presented a petition to the Fern Ridge School Board with more than 100 signatures asking that problems be addressed.
