Trade Alert for Leap Wireless International Inc (NASDAQ:LEAP)

Leap Wireless International wants to hurdle the competition. Its Cricket Communications mobile wireless operating unit has customers in more than 50 markets in 22 states in the US. The Cricket service features unlimited flat-rate local calling and a new prepaid roaming option. The company has 2 million customers (and growing) and has launched wireless data and multimedia services. Leap was a big winner in the 2006 FCC auction, winning 99 of the Advanced Wireless Services licenses. Leap operates CDMA (code division multiple access) digital networks.

Shares were up 9% after reporting fourth quarter net loss.
