Barr's Duramed Pharmaceuticals subsidiary makes branded drugs, including extended-cycle oral contraceptive SEASONALE and estrogen-replacement therapy ENJUVIA. In 2006 Barr acquired Croatian drug company Pliva in a $2.5 billion deal, making Barr the third-largest generics maker worldwide.
Shares were down 5% swinging to a fourth quarter loss on Pliva buy.
