James Risher

James Lee Risher of Eugene died Jan. 27 of age-related causes. He was 88.

He was born Dec. 20, 1918, in Stroud, Okla., to John and Eva Fowler Risher. He married Violet Ray on Nov. 1, 1941, in Eugene. She died Jan. 15, 2006.

Risher was the owner of Rishers Restaurant in Springfield.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Bennett of Springfield; a son, James "Mick" of Ashland; and two grandchildren.

No service is planned. Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Eugene. Remembrances to Springfield High School athletics.

Deryl Ross

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Deryl Gene Ross of Eugene, who died Jan. 26 of age-related causes. He was 79. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 21, 1927, in Eugene to Leland and Ethel Purdy Ross. He married Phyllis Young on Aug. 13, 1960, in Eugene.

He served in the Navy. He was a farmer, raising cattle and grass seed.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa Oxenford of Eugene; a son, Paul of Eugene; a sister, Carolyn Stewart of Eugene; and three grand- children.

Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene....
