For the second time in three years, Eugene's Bethel School District is the proud parent of a statewide Celebrating School Success Award recipient.

Prairie Mountain, a kindergarten-through-eighth-grade school that opened five years ago on the district's fast-growing west side, was one of seven schools that received the awards, which were announced by state schools Superintendent Susan Castillo.

Prairie Mountain and Fairfield Elementary are the only two Lane County schools honored with the award since the program started in 2005. Springfield Middle School was named one of six finalists this year.
