With the exclusive Club at Autzen Stadium as the setting, organizers of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene made their first official pitch Tuesday night to local businesses to contribute cash to help stage the 10-day event.

In the next 17 months, the Local Organizing Committee has a lot of money to raise to meet its operating budget of $7 million - not including improvements to Hayward Field.
