Multiband Corporation (NASDAQ: MBND) provides voice, data, and video services to multi dwelling unit customers in the United States. It operates in two segments, Multiband Consumer Services (MCS) and Minnesota Digital Universe, Inc. (MDU). The MCS segment offers voice, data, and video services to multiple dwelling units, including apartment buildings, condominiums, and time share resorts; and local and long distance telephone cable television and Internet services. The MDU segment serves as a master service operator for DirecTV, a provider of satellite television service. It offers satellite television services to residents of multi dwelling-units through a network of affiliated operators. As of March 25, 2006, MCS had 42,167 subscriptions, including 1,341 voice subscriptions, 36,673 video subscriptions, and 4,153 Internet subscriptions; and MDU had approximately 75,331 video subscriptions. The company was founded in 1933. It was formerly known as Vicom, Incorporated and changed its name to Multiband Corporation in 2004. The company is based in New Hope, Minnesota. With 35.05 million shares outstanding and 261,345 shares declared short as of December 2006, there is no longer a failure to deliver in shares of MBND.
