Symmetry Medical covers both sides of the orthopedic implant coin. The company makes orthopedic implants such as hips and knees and the surgical instruments that are used to implant such devices. In addition to making numerous products for the orthopedic implant market, the company markets its products to physicians that deal with spinal injuries and general trauma, dental work, cardiovascular care, and ophthalmology. Symmetry also manufactures plastic and metal cases to organize, hold, and transport medical devices. On the side it also manufactures aerofoils and aircraft engine parts for a few aerospace customers. The company uses its own sales force to promote its products worldwide.
