Elgin's Public Action to Deliver Shelter just held its most successful benefit, and now the agency is about to embark on its biggest fund-raising campaign ever to build its first permanent shelter.

PADS' Winter Harvest for the Homeless dinner and auction over the weekend brought in around $20,000, more than doubling the $8,000 made last year.
