With the holiday season over, local organizations are moving forward with their fund-raisers, community service work and special projects.

The Algonquin Garden Club is no exception. In honor of National Arbor Day, the club has funded the planting of 50 Lodgepole pine and Douglas fir trees, by the National Arbor Day Foundation.

The trees will be planted in honor of "Past Members of Algonquin Garden Club."

"This gift is in celebration of the memory of our four deceased members," member Dolores Hermansen explained.
