Investors on Bay Street saw a flurry of green arrows Friday, as a surge in energy and gold issues lifted the Toronto S&P/TSX composite up 78 points, or 0.6%, at 12,718.99. An increase in the price of gold paved the way for additional success, as the precious metal added 1.3%, or $8.30, to close at US$636.40 an ounce.
