In my last two columns, I addressed the trials and tribulations associated with establishing a political action committee to defeat a ballot measure business felt was unnecessary, unwarranted and onerous to the economy.

I am happy to report the race is over, the name-calling has subsided and victory is in hand. When you discuss the merits of voting or not in any election, consider the following:

* Our PAC took an official stand against Proposition E, which was put on the ballot by a group calling themselves the Concerned Citizens of Carlsbad.

* The "Yes" advocates would have coasted to a lopsided victory had not the Chamber stepped...
