PONTIAC - It's not often - maybe ever - that West Aurora's boys basketball team takes a positive outlook after losing a game by 16 points.

It's just as rare to play the kind of opponent West Aurora did Saturday at the 76th annual Pontiac Holiday Tournament.

Defending state champion Simeon, the No. 1 team in Illinois and fifth-ranked team in the country, did to West Aurora what the Blackhawks have done to their opponents for years.

The Wolverines used superior athleticism to cause West Aurora's offense all kinds of problems. Simeon defeated West Aurora 56-40 in the semifinals, then won its second straight Pontiac title by topping Warren 56-50 Saturday night in the finals.

West Aurora bounced back in the third-place game, outscoring Oak Park 13-4 to end the game with a 41-34 victory.
