Helen Becker, 92, of Mount Prospect. Died May 17. Helped start Mount Prospect United Way; the Volunteer Center of Northwest Suburban Chicago; the village's July 4th parade; the farmers market; the Teddy Bear Walk and Elder Honor program. Served on PTA; the District 57 school board nominating caucus and the Campfire Girls. Executive assistant for 10 years to Dolores Haugh, Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce executive director.

Frank R. Bergen, 83, of Mount Prospect. Died Jan. 22, 2006. Village trustee, 1963-1967; District 214 board member, 1968-1972. President, Mount Prospect Little League Baseball Association, 1962.

Bob Blackwood, 38, died Sept. 9. Former Prospect High School all-area basketball standout; named the Mid-Suburban League's most valuable player in 1986. Played on two Mid-Suburban champions.

Marian H. Busse, 89, died Jan. 14. Major benefactor of the William J. and Marian H. Busse Center for Specialty Medicine; on boards of Mount Prospect State Bank; Lattof YMCA; YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago; Clearbrook Center Foundation.

Wayne Gilbert Busse, 75, of Mount Prospect. Died Nov. 9. Owner of Wayne Busse Marathon for 30 years; owned Busse Automotive 1980- 1989. He and his cars were a fixture in village's July 4th parades.

Robert L. Butler, 87, of Prospect Heights. Died July 7. Gave more than 4,000 hours of volunteer time to Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines.

Ralph Carnevale, 86, formerly of Mount Prospect. Died Nov. 29. One-half of a husband and wife song and dance team that entertained in the USO during WWII; at resorts and with Abbott and Costello, Patti Page, Johnnie Ray, Rodney Dangerfield, Jackie Mason, and a young Lenny Bruce. Was a founding member of The Three Sheeters, a club of prominent Chicago area entertainers.
