His philanthropy included Alexian Brothers, Columbus Cuneo and Cabrini, Illinois Benedictine College, Mercersburg College, St. Norbert College, the Chicago Institute for Neurosurgery and Neurophysiology and PHD.
George C. Bacos, 84, of Barrington. Died March 24. Owned George's Barber Shop for 45 years; volunteered many years cutting children's hair at Illinois Children's Hospital in Chicago.
Steven Roy Bahn, 55, of Palatine. Died Jan. 11. Taught U.S. History at Fremd High School for more than 30 years and coached varsity baseball.
Dorothy A. Barnes, 84, of Barrington. Died Dec. 12. A commercial artist, one of her pieces, "Bakers Lake," was selected for a Village of Barrington Christmas card cover.
Louis Bassi, 93, of Palatine. Died July 10. An engraver by trade, also a professional drummer around the Chicago area for more than 60 years. Father-in-law of state Rep. Suzanne Bassi.
Craig E. Bauer, 55, of Deer Park. Died June 25. President and COO for Omron Electronics LLC, a subsidiary of Omron Corp. Previously, CEO of Videojet Technologies.
Carol Ann Benkendorf, 65, of Barrington. Died Feb. 4. Past president, Barrington Welcome Wagon.
Stanley G. Borys, 85, of Palatine. Died April 3. Played semi- professional baseball for the Chicago Gales.
Gerald J. Bouschard, 73, formerly of Palatine. Died March 9. Owner of Bouschard Real Estate in Barrington.
Donn P. Branstrator, 72, of Barrington. Died Oct. 29. Barrington village trustee, 1999-2001. Principal at Sunny Hill School in Barrington; principal and teacher at Countryside School in Barrington until he retired in 1993.
Richard Lee Buck, 76, died Dec. 2. Cook County Forest Preserve District's chief landscape architect; he and his family lived for more than 20 years at Crabtree Nature Center in Barrington. Instrumental in developing recreational facilities for forest preserves in Cook County, including bicycle trail system, golf courses and practice ranges and the Busse Lake Recreational and Flood Control Complex.
Edward F. Buehlman, 86, of Barrington. Died April 1. Joined with five other people in 1958 to form the Barrington Sportsmen's Club in 1958.
Irene L. Caravello, 79, of Barrington. Died Nov. 28. Former proprietor of the Barrington Sweet Tooth Candy Store.
