Patricia G. Bourke, 68, died Nov. 26. Dean of the Life Science and Health Services Department at Harper College for 29 years; first female division chair; first female dean.
Richard Lee Buck, 76, died Dec. 2. Cook County Forest Preserve District's chief landscape architect; he and his family lived for more than 20 years at Crabtree Nature Center in Barrington. Instrumental in developing recreational facilities for forest preserves in Cook County, including bicycle trail system, golf courses and practice ranges and the Busse Lake Recreational and Flood Control Complex.
Sandra E. Button, 77, of Hoffman Estates. Died April 2006. Taught in District 54 for 30 years, mostly in special education at Winston Churchill School in Schaumburg.
John L. Clarke Jr., 77, founder of Roselle-based Clarke Mosquito Control. Died Dec. 5. Led family business for more than 50 years, as it grew into international status serving government, commercial and residential clients. His father, John Sr., developed programs for the U.S. Public Health Service at military bases during World War I and helped establish the framework for mosquito control districts in Illinois. Clarke holds five U.S. patents for mosquito control.
John "Jack" Corzine, 80, died Dec. 23. For many years, he and his wife, Ruth, farmed land on Beverly Road, where Sears World Headquarters is presently located.
