Article Excerpt Genevieve Andres, 87, of Arlington Heights. Died Oct. 15. Former owner of Bill's Inn, at 20 E. Northwest Hwy. and before that at 27 W. Campbell St., both in Arlington Heights. She and her husband, Bill, first ran a liquor store on Campbell Street. Bought their first tavern, the Vail Lounge; opened the original Bill's in 1971 before moving it to Northwest Highway in 1979.
Steven Roy Bahn, 55, died Jan. 11. Taught U.S. History at Fremd High School for more than 30 years and coached varsity baseball.
Thomas G. Beamer, 63, formerly of Arlington Heights. Died June 23. Soccer and baseball coach for Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association.
Doris Elizabeth Beckman, 80, died Feb. 10. Managed the original Arlington Theatre until it closed in the early 1980s.
Julia Von Bergen, 87, of Arlington Heights. For many years worked with her husband on their farm, growing and selling vegetables from their Thomas Street produce stand.
Bob Blackwood, 38, died Sept. 9. Former Prospect High School all-area basketball standout; named the Mid-Suburban League's most valuable player in 1986. Played on two Mid-Suburban champions; came to Prospect after starting as a sophomore on Arlington High School's final team.
Patricia G. Bourke, 68, died Nov. 26. Dean of Life Science and Health Services Department at Harper College for 29 years; first female division chair; first female dean. Trustee, Northwest Community Hospital.
Fred W. Buhrke, 85, of Arlington Heights. Died April 3. In 1949 founded Buhrke Industries, a tool and die business in Arlington Heights.
Marian H. Busse, 89, of Arlington Heights. Died Jan. 14. Major benefactor of the William J. and Marian H. Busse Center for Specialty Medicine; on boards of Mount Prospect State Bank; Lattof YMCA; YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago; Clearbrook Center Foundation.
Ruth P. Clabaugh, 92, formerly of Arlington Heights. Died Aug. 5. On board of directors of Northwest Community Hospital; president of the hospital auxiliary for several years. A leader with the Arlington Heights Women's Club, and the local PEO chapter. Wife of longtime District 25 superintendent Ralph Clabaugh.
Catherine A. "Kay" Clerihan, 88, of Arlington Heights. Died Dec. 5. Admitted the first patient at Northwest Community Hospital, where she worked in medical records until her retirement.
Richard P. Cooper Sr., 82, of Rolling Meadows. Died Nov. 22. In retirement, owned and operated Cooper's Sporting Goods in Rolling Meadows 1983-1993.
Joann Cress, 74, of Arlington Heights. Died Aug. 3. Library assistant at Wheeling High School for 20 years.
Corey Diamond, 16, of Arlington Heights. Died July 23. Trumpet player in Buffalo Grove High School Band, Jazz Band and The Expressions. Member of Boy Scout Troop 140; earned his Eagle Scout award last year, the 100th Eagle Scout to come out of Troop 140. Also earned Bronze Palm - signifying he went above what was needed to make Eagle Scout.
Albert L. Eischen, 71, of Arlington Heights. Died March 11. A mechanical engineer, he designed the Museum of Science & Industry's energy exhibit; earned several patents.
John Ellis, 80, died Dec. 20. Biology teacher; football and wrestling coach for more...
