BOGOTÁ, Dec. 29, 2006 (IPS) - "Jorge Eliécer" es el alias que las autoridades colombianas le endilgan a Fredy Muñoz, corresponsal en Colombia del canal de televisión Telesur, con sede en Caracas, detenido el 19 de noviembre.

Muñoz es uno de los 134 reporteros que estaban presos en todo el mundo el 1 de diciembre, según la estadística del Comité para la Protección de los Periodistas (CPJ por sus siglas en inglés), con sede en Nueva York.

Pasará el Año Nuevo en la cárcel, pues la fiscalía presupone que el reportero fue, en 2002 en la norteña Cartagena de Indias, "jefe de las Milicias Bolivarianas de las FARC", Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia, en armas desde 1964.

"Yo no puedo estar acusando gente que no conozco, yo hablé muy claro con la doctora, que el 'Jorge Eliécer' que yo conozco se desertó de la guerrilla y lo mataron las autodefensas en Ñanguma", atestiguó el 5 de este mes en declaración jurada Yainer Rodríguez, quien purga una condena de 12 años por rebelión y terrorismo.
