ELKTON - As he talks with residents of Elkton during his day, Alfred Tyson gets called many names. And though he's an elected official, none of them are bad.

Residents of the town on Highway 38 call the familiar 91-year-old retired Episcopalian priest Father Tyson, Mr. Tyson, Alfred or just plain Al.

But, come Sunday - after a record 12 terms and 24 years - there's one moniker he'll be surrendering: mayor.

"I'm getting worn out, and I can't get to meetings like a mayor should," said Tyson, whose failing knees have left him in a wheelchair except for short strolls. "I think it's time to quit."
