Gerald Ford valued loyalty, both to the Republican Party and to the institution of the presidency. It's not surprising that if Ford had doubts about policies of the current administration, he would keep them to himself. Following Ford's death at age 93 on Tuesday, however, Bob Woodward of The Washington Post found himself at liberty to report on a 2004 interview in which the former president "very strongly" disagreed with President Bush's decision to invade Iraq.
