In conjunction with the 80th anniversary of The Sun Also Rises, Simon and Schuster Audio, along with Scribner's, is in the midst of producing the major novels of Ernest Hemingway on compact disc and eAudio. All twelve major works, with the exception of The Torrents of Spring, Hemingway's 1926 parody of Sherwood Anderson's Dark Laughter, are scheduled for release between May 2006 and February 2007. Patrick Hemingway, according to a Simon and Schuster press release, has said "I think that my father would have been pleased to have so many of his finest works published in audio-book form. Reading Hemingway is to listen to him, to 'hear' the dialogue. The spoken word versions will certainly add another dimension to his writing and will entice new audiences to his work."
