Brian Conklin broke Danny Ainge's 29-year-old single-game school scoring record when he scored 41 points to lead the Highlanders to a 76-73 win over Sunset at the McNary Tournament.

A.J. Vanderhoff contributed 10 to the win.

Ainge had scored 40 points in the 1977-78 season.

Garrett Sim took game scoring honors, however, with 43 points for the Apollos, including seven three-pointers. North Eugene had a 36-26 lead over Sunset at halftime and hung on for the victory.

Jefferson 80, Sheldon 64: Antwon Wooten and Herschal Slaughter scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Democrats past the Irish on Thursday at the Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro.

Blake Poole led the Irish in the loss with 20 points and five blocked shots, followed by Trevor Clemo and Brent McKee with 12 points apiece. Sheldon will meet Prairie of Brush Prairie, Wash., today at 9 a.m.
