Sun Bowl Matchups: Daniel has numbers, Moore has edge.

QUARTERBACKS

The edge here, if there is one, goes to Oregon State's Matt Moore, though Missouri's Chase Daniel has the bigger passing numbers - 3,197 yards and 26 touchdowns (both Tiger records) to 2,666 yards and 14 touchdowns for Moore. Daniel completes his passes at a 64 percent rate, Moore at 61 percent. Moore, however, is a senior and for the first time in his career the one-time UCLA quarterback is directing the same offense for a second straight season. He has thrown just six interceptions this season, a major improvement from his 19 a year ago, and has a nation-best streak of 161 pass attempts without an interception. Experience and savvy count, especially in a bowl setting. Daniel does have one up on Moore in the rushing category with 393 yards and four scores to one yard and four touchdowns for Moore.

RUNNING BACKS

You can't ask for more consistency from a player than what Yvenson Bernard has supplied the Beavers - back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons and one missed game in two years because of injury. An ankle problem sidelined Bernard for Oregon State's upset win over USC on Oct. 28. The sophomore tailback, as OSU coach Mike Riley continually has said, "is a warrior," and the 27 days between games has to help him. In the last two seasons, Bernard has 572 carries for 2,531 yards and 25 touchdowns.
