Article Excerpt When economic developers at the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation (EMBDC) in Meridian learned about incentives related to GO Zone legislation, they immediately shared the news with Woodstock Furniture owner Scott Honeycutt.
"Scott had been planning a new showroom for several years, but the GO Zone incentives made it a done deal," said EMBDC president Wade Jones.
Honeycutt, who manages the 27-year-old homegrown furniture manufacturing and retail business, said he was very pleased to hear about the tax deductions, which prompted him to expand his business with a 15,000-square-foot showroom and partner with Meridian developer Gil Cannichael on an adjoining shopping center project.
