In analyzing the legacy of Oregon athletic director Bill Moos, who announced his resignation Monday, UO wrestling coach Chuck Kearney thought back to the Ducks' football game with Washington earlier this month.

Oregon won 34-14 that day, to establish just the second three-game winning streak by the Ducks in series history. And the Ducks did it in what Kearney called "ho-hum" fashion, which would have been unthinkable against the mighty Huskies when Kearney was a student-athlete at Oregon in the mid-1980s.

Moos had encouraged his coaches to believe the UO athletic department could be great, and by the end of his tenure, greatness had become the expectation.

"What Bill was able to do here was change the way we thought about ourselves," Kearney said....
