Less than a week before the St. Charles City Council is expected to approve a $105 million redevelopment project that has been in the works for more than three years, the park district is confronting officials with eleventh-hour objections.

In a letter dated Nov. 16 to the city, the St. Charles Park District says the monumental First Street redevelopment plan "conflicts" with efforts to improve the Fox River corridor.
