Years of excruciating pain and nearly a dozen brain and spinal surgeries had taken their toll on Ann Banfield.

Another operation last winter for the rare disease that sapped the 32-year-old Glenbard South High School teacher's strength and convinced her body it housed a brain tumor that didn't exist left her exhausted. And depressed.

A little Internet surfing might help, she reasoned. Perhaps some new tidbit about pseudotumor cerebri would offer a needed dose of hope....
