Andy Maurer played in the first game ever at Autzen Stadium when Colorado defeated Oregon 17-13 on Sept. 23, 1967.

On Saturday, Maurer will coach for the first time at the stadium when he leads sixth-ranked Cascade Christian (10-2) against No. 3 Bonanza (11-1) in the OSAA Class 2A football final at 2 p.m.

Cascade Christian is making its first appearance ever in the state final and for Maurer, this may be his biggest game since he played in a couple Super Bowls nearly 30 years ago.
