When Perrydale won the 1A football title in 2004, it looked like the start of a dynasty.

The Pirates started six sophomores when they defeated McKenzie 48-32 for the school's first state title two years ago.

Perrydale continued its dominance with perfect regular season last year, but then disaster struck when five starters were suspended before the playoffs. Perrydale defeated Powers 38-14 in the first round before losing to Wallowa, 50-6, in the second.
