PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local PT ANEKA TAMBANG TBK is presently planning to build its second smelter grade alumina plant in Bintan island, off Sumatra, Indonesia. Construction plans under consideration call for building a facility with an installed production capacity of 600,000 tonnes per year (t/y).

As things currently stand, construction start-up is tentatively scheduled for late 2007. The cost to complete the project, by 2009, has been pegged at $250,000,000.
