Paris: Bombardier Transportation signed a contract today with French National Railways (SNCF) for the supply of 372 trains to be used on the Greater Paris / Ile-de-France suburban network.

The total contract is valued at about 2.7 billion euros ($ 3.5 billion US). The initial firm order for 172 trains is valued at about 1.4 billion euros ($ 1.8 billion US). Deliveries of trains should start in November 2009 and continue to 2015.
