- Robert G. Golombek, son of Robert and Nancy Golombek of Streamwood, graduated from Augustana College at is May 23 commencement convocation in Rock Island. He majored in art.

- Nicholas James Garcia, a student at Streamwood High School, was recognized as one of the country's most outstanding high school seniors by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. Garcia was awarded a $4,000 regional Coca-Cola scholarship for college.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, a joint effort of Coca-Cola Bottlers across America and The Coca-Cola Co., is one of the largest corporate-sponsored, merit scholarship programs in the United States. The program recognizes a diverse group of extraordinary high school seniors who demonstrate academic and civic excellence in their schools and communities. In Streamwood, the foundation is supported by the financial commitment of the Lakeshore-Alsip Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and The Coca-Cola Co.
