A political mailer sent by 51st House District challenger Amanda Howland is being rebuked by legislators who say the jabs she takes at a charity event are false.

Howland, a Democrat from Lake Zurich, claims the Sullivan Caucus hosted in part by her opponent, incumbent Ed Sullivan Jr. of Mundelein, is held at a Springfield "gentleman's club."

However, Lake County Republican and Democratic legislators - all of whom attend the annual St. Patrick's Day party - say Karma Nightclub is not a gentlemen's club, but that city's largest downtown bar.
