Dave Scheuchenzuber swears his job doesn't gross him out.

It might gross out others, though, so consider this your warning.

The Naperville man cleans up dog waste - about 400 pounds of it a week from about 185 area yards.

And he's not just efficient at his job. He actually likes it, too.

Really, he says.

"It's easy work," he says. "I know what I'm up against."

His job might seem a joke to some, but Scheuchenzuber, who is co-owner of PooPatrol in Naperville, has made a successful living as a professional pooper-scooper.

And he's not the only one.

All over the West and Northwest suburbs, residents are picking up on it - literally - thanks in part to low startup expenses and the job's simplicity.
