CORVALLIS - Sammie Stroughter, a split end/punt returner for Oregon State, was named the Pac-10 Conference football special teams player of the week on Monday following the Beavers' upset of then No. 3-ranked USC 33-31 at Reser Stadium last Saturday.

Stroughter, a junior from Sacramento, Calif., returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown, his third of the season to tie a Pac-10 record held by seven other players, and had eight receptions for 127 yards.
