Applied Digital (NASDAQ:ADSX) is best known for its VeriChip technology, computer chips that can be embedded under the skin and read by a remote sensor to check vital signs and diagnose medial problems. 55%-owned Digital Angel applies similar embedded chips to locate people and animals. Applied Digital is also involved in network integration services through subsidiary Computer Equity Corporation, and its Thermo Life business develops thermoelectric generators. The company also has a 52% stake in InfoTech USA (formerly SysComm International), a provider of information technology services.

Shares were up 8% as subsidiary announces new VP of sales.
