Those of us who hoped Lilith Fair would go on forever may have been disappointed when the women-only festival's founder, Sarah McLachlan, ended it at the height of its success to take a hiatus and have a baby.

At the time, McLachlan left open the possibility of resurrecting the tour some time in the future. But post-Lilith disciples have since been without a solid career-launching platform - and just like before Lilith, they have tried to forge careers in the still-sexist music indus- try.

Eugene resident Halie Loren surely would be the sort of young blood to take part in such a movement. At age 22, she's already a seasoned veteran, having performed since age 10. But only now is she releasing her debut album.
