Twenty-four men's and women's collegiate cross country teams, including seven schools ranked in the top 10, will descend upon Eugene today for the inaugural Bill Dellinger Invitational.

The meet serves as a tribute to the legendary Oregon distance runner and mentor, who was a three-time Olympian, bronze medalist in the 5,000 meters, two-time NCAA champion and Hall of Fame coach.

Oregon's first home cross country meet since 1998 will be held on portions of the recently refurbished Pre's Trail at Alton Baker Park. The women's 6,000-meter race begins at 5:20 p.m., followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 6 p.m.
