Sportsmanship needed

This letter is in response to comments made by "Beaver disbeliever" in Sunday's Sports Mail.

I am a dedicated Beaver fan, but most of all I am a fan of all college sports in the state of Oregon.

I commend The Register-Guard for being fair in their coverage of Oregon college football. I am sure the Corvallis newspaper does the same. I think this paper knows that there is a large support base for both Duck and Beaver football programs in the Eugene and Springfield area.

Most of my local friends are Duck fans who also believe in supporting both football teams until time of the Civil War. ... Then it becomes a healthy rivalry among fans. During away games, many Duck fans travel to Corvallis to watch the Beavers play and Beaver fans come to Eugene to watch the Ducks.
