Vote for hope by voting for Scheurer

In his letter, "Vote for Scheurer is one for McSweeney" (Fence Post, Aug. 12), Democratic voter Greg Mack almost succeeds in inadvertently persuading himself to vote for Bill Scheurer for Congress.

Let me try to help him go all the way, and do what he (and many other Democrats, Republicans, and Independents) really wants to do: vote for Scheurer.

Mr. Mack correctly points out that Scheurer is "an excellent candidate when compared to Bean or McSweeney," and that Scheurer's "views are in line with the majority of Americans," and he has nothing good to say about his own candidate Melissa Bean.
