Kickers aren't supposed to be injury concerns.

They do their jobs. They stay out of harm's way. The only issue should be their accuracy.

Except, Oregon senior Paul Martinez missed three games last season with a strained quadriceps muscle in his kicking leg. And then he was out for all of spring drills with a tear in a hip muscle.

So his summer was spent not kicking, but trying to strengthen his right leg after missing so much time. And during August drills, Martinez limited his kicking, working his way up to last week's final scrimmage when he did a normal amount of place kicking, and even tried a couple of kickoffs.
