PITTSBURGH - Cubs second baseman Freddie Bynum was charged with the error in the 11th inning of Tuesday night's 7-6 loss to the Pirates, but shortstop Ronny Cedeno received most of the internal, behind-the-scenes criticism for hesitating on the play and handcuffing Bynum with his throw.

On top of that, baseball's archaic scoring rules allowed the official scorer to credit Cedeno with an assist.
