Dundee-Crown setter Melissa Herman has the luxury of being able to set the volleyball almost anywhere on the court and someone is going to take a big swing.

With so many hitters around her, Herman can keep opponents off balance, which allows her teammates to swing with one blocker up instead of two.

That was exactly what happened Wednesday night in the Chargers' season-opening 25-14, 25-7 victory over Streamwood in Carpentersville.
