The Bellwether Report Takes Notice of LTX Corp. (NASDAQ:LTXX)

LTX isn't a fancy sports car, but it does help chip makers rev up their production. The company makes equipment used to test semiconductors as they're being manufactured. Its Fusion product line (which evolved from LTX's earlier mixed-signal, discrete-device, and digital-device test systems) offers a single-platform system for testing digital, mixed-signal, and system-on-a-chip integrated circuits. LTX's enVision++ software enables customers to develop device test programs. The company's top customers include Texas Instruments (47% of sales), Vitesse Semiconductor, Philips Semiconductors, and Infineon Technologies.

Shares were down 15% after the company told investors to expect slowing orders and shrinking margins.
