SPRINGFIELD - The funeral was held July 20 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene for Kathie Jo Burgner of Springfield, who died July 17 of breast cancer. She was 47.
Burgner was born Nov. 7, 1956, in Portland to Joseph and Gloria Kelleher Schreiber. She married Mark Burgner on Aug. 19, 1978.
Her family moved to this area 40 years ago and she graduated from Marist High School in 1974.
She was employed with Market of Choice. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Eugene.
She enjoyed reading, listening to music, long walks, camping and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of Eugene; a son, Michael of Springfield; a daughter, Jolie Burgner of Springfield; two brothers, Joe Schreiber of Renton, Wash., and Michael Schreiber of Portland; and four sisters, Julie Copley of Springfield, Charlene Parr of Milwaukie, Colleen Dixon of Portland and Suzanne Hernandez of Eugene.
Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
