Two government investigations aren't the only concerns for orthopedic devicemakers.

The five largest manufacturers of implants have been subpoenaed as part of two different Justice Department probes, and earlier this month, one of the companies-Zimmer Holdings, Warsaw, Ind.-says the businesses were also named in six class-action lawsuits filed in three states by direct and indirect purchasers of orthopedic implants.
